Happy Monday from Literacy Connexus everyone! Has anyone started lesson planning yet? As July draws to a close I definitely have.
I am usually what I like to refer to as a “casual” lesson planner. My lesson plans typically consist of the post it note I put on my desk to make sure that I don’t forget anything I have planned during class. Unfortunately, as much as I love my post it note system, it is not very handy for reflecting on or drawing from later. I’ve tried lesson planning notebooks but they tend to end up in a dark corner of a desk drawer by the end of October. So this year I decided to switch things up a bit and take my lesson plans digital- with Google Slides.
If you’re familiar with Google Slides, you know that Google Slides has a wonderful lesson planning template to use for free on their template page. It’s super easy, all you have to do is fill in your own information. But, I like a simpler lesson planning style, and I found two great digital lesson planning templates put together by other teachers that I want to share with you today.
Both of these digital lesson planners were found on Teachers Pay Teachers (one of my favorite sites). The first one is an easy essential lesson plan that is color coded and the second lesson plan is a great weekly lesson planner. Both of these digital lesson planners are fully editable and can be modified to fit whatever schedule and class you have to plan for. The second example shows a K-12 weekly lesson plans, but I like to use it to plan by activity rather than period since I teach adult students.

We hope you like these resources! Until next time and as always, blessings and happy teaching.
