Hellllllllooooooo and happy Fri-yay from Literacy Connexus everyone! Did you miss us last week ? We sure missed you while we were on our retreat!

We hope that this blog post finds you happy, healthy, and staying cool (boy is it hot and humid lately!). Today, I want to hop back in with a fantastic resource from Literacy Minnesota!

Literacy Minnesota created a fantastic set of free ESL Instructional Support Kits a couple of years ago in 2020.

Our ESL Instructional Support Kits are designed to make teaching easier! Each kit provides teachers and classroom volunteers with complete activity instructions and materials on a variety of topics. The kits can be used to facilitate small-group pull-outs, one-to-one tutoring, develop plans for substitute teachers, or enhance existing curriculum.

Each kit includes a printable PDF that has: a list of necessary materials, instructions for assembly, a tutor/volunteer log, detailed instructions for different activities, activity expansion ideas, as well as hand outs and supporting materials.

You can download, print, and assemble your kit and begin teaching with them immediately. Additionally, Literacy Minnesota has provided support! Teachers, tutors, and volunteers can contact Meghan Boyle at mboyle@literacymn.org for assistance downloading kits or questions about how to use them.

Literacy Minnesota has created a variety of kits to use including: Phonics and Phonemic Awareness, Reading, Speaking and Listening, Pronunciation, and Citizenship.

To check out the kits and download yours today, check out the Literacy Minnesota website’s Educator Resources section, or just click the link here.

We hope this resource helps your program set up for the summer and fall!

Until next time, blessings and happy teaching!
